What's In the Flat Rate

What the Price Actually Covers.

With Dutch, the number you're quoted is the number you pay — assuming you stay inside your rental window and tonnage allowance. Here's exactly what's bundled into one flat price.

  • Delivery to your address inside our service area
  • 5-day rental window
  • Pickup when you call and say you're done
  • Disposal at the landfill
  • Tonnage allowance built in (2 tons on the 20-yard, 3 on the 30-yard)
  • No fuel, no "environmental fee," no delivery-zone upcharge
Cost Factors

What Actually Moves the Price.

Five things decide what a dumpster rental costs. Understanding them up front is the easiest way to avoid an overage charge and pick the size that's cheapest for your actual job.

01

Dumpster size

The single biggest lever. A 20-yard and a 30-yard cover most jobs in our area — going up a size costs less than renting twice if you under-size and have to swap.

02

Weight (tonnage)

Every rental includes a tonnage allowance — 2 tons on Dutch's 20-yard, 3 tons on the 30-yard. Heavy debris like concrete, dirt, shingles, and wet materials adds up fast. Overage is billed per ton above the included amount.

03

Rental period

Dutch includes a 5-day rental in the flat rate. Need longer for a slow remodel? It's a flat per-day extension, not a re-rental.

04

Debris type

Clean single-material loads (all concrete, all yard waste) are sometimes priced differently than mixed C&D debris because they're disposed of differently. Prohibited items (tires, paint, freon appliances) can trigger fees if they slip in.

05

Location & access

Most reputable local haulers — Dutch included — fold delivery into one flat rate inside their service area. Watch national brokers for separate delivery, fuel, and 'environmental' surcharges that don't show until the invoice.

Cheaper Option?

Dumpster Rental vs. Junk Removal.

A roll-off dumpster is usually the lower cost per unit of stuff when you have a multi-day project and don't mind loading it yourself — renovation debris, a roof, a big cleanout you'll fill over a week. Junk removal is the better value when the load is small, you want it gone today, and you'd rather not lift it — a few pieces of furniture, an appliance, a single garage corner. If you're not sure which is cheaper for your job, a 60-second call usually settles it.

Quick rule of thumb

  • Rent a dumpster if you're working over several days and want the lowest cost on a big volume.
  • Book junk removal if it's a small load, you want it gone same-day, and you don't want to lift it.

How much does it cost to rent a dumpster in Cullman, AL?
For most homeowners in Cullman and the surrounding area, a roll-off dumpster runs between roughly $375 and $575 for a standard 5-day rental, depending on size. Dutch Dumpsters charges a flat $375 for a 20-yard (2 tons included) and $575 for a 30-yard (3 tons included). That flat rate already covers delivery, pickup, and disposal inside our service area — there are no separate fuel or delivery surcharges.
What size dumpster do most homeowners need?
The 20-yard is the right call for the majority of residential jobs — garage and attic cleanouts, kitchen or bath remodels, and roofing up to about 1,500 square feet. Step up to a 30-yard for a full-home renovation, a large roof tear-off, or new-construction and storm cleanup. If you are between sizes, going one size up is almost always cheaper than under-sizing and paying for a second haul.
What is included in the price?
Dutch's flat rate includes delivery to your address, a 5-day rental window, pickup when you're done, disposal at the landfill, and a tonnage allowance (2 tons on the 20-yard, 3 tons on the 30-yard). The only things that add to the price are going over your tonnage allowance ($75/ton), keeping the bin past 5 days ($25/day), or prohibited items that require special handling.
Why are some online dumpster quotes cheaper than the local price?
A lot of low headline prices come from national brokers who advertise a base rate and then stack delivery, fuel, environmental, and admin fees on the final invoice — plus they sub the job out to whatever hauler is cheapest that week. A local flat rate that includes delivery, pickup, disposal, and a real tonnage allowance is usually the lower number once everything is added up, and you are dealing with the people who actually own the truck.
What happens if I go over the weight limit?
Overage is billed at $75 per ton above your included allowance. Heavy materials — concrete, dirt, wet debris, and roofing shingles — add weight fast, so if your load is heavy-only, tell us when you book and we'll help you size and price it right rather than surprise you at pickup.
Do I need a permit, and does that add to the cost?
If the dumpster sits on your own driveway or private property, you almost never need a permit. A permit usually only comes into play when a bin has to be placed on a public street — more common in older or downtown areas. Permit fees, when required, are paid to the city, not to us, and we will walk you through it before delivery.
